As a mom of two littles, I drink this Greek yogurt smoothie basically every single morning for breakfast. It provides nutrients, a lot of protein to keep me full throughout the morning, and most importantly- it’s FAST. I can take it on the go if needed with no issue. My girls also love it, so I often find myself making a double batch to share. It’s the perfect quick and easy breakfast (although I do occasionally switch it up for this chocolate cherry smoothie, which is equally as delicious).

Let’s make it!

What You’ll Love About This Smoothie

  • KID FRIENDLY: My kids love this smoothie! It’s a great way for me to sneak in some extra nutrition into their diet with no complaints from them 😉
  • HEALTHY: Packed full of protein, gut healthy probiotics, and fiber, this smoothie is a win-win-win!
  • QUICK & EASY: This smoothie uses only a few ingredients and comes together quickly, making it perfect for a quick and easy breakfast. It’s also portable, which is an added bonus for me. I’m often eating breakfast on the go!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Frozen Strawberries: Frozen strawberries are key here. Frozen fruit helps thicken the smoothie.
  • Banana: This is a non-negotiable for me. Bananas add creaminess to smoothies; it’s just not the same without it!
  • Greek Yogurt: Store bought or homemade Greek yogurt will work. I love to make my own because it’s super easy and packed full of probiotics!
  • Collagen: Choose your favorite brand! You’ll just need 1 scoop.
  • Protein Powder: Use whatever brand you like. I prefer to use Ancient Nutrition.

Tips for Preparing to Make This Recipe

  1. Greek Yogurt: I used plain, whole milk Greek yogurt for this recipe, but you could swap for another flavor (vanilla would be delicious!)
  2. Additions: Add 1-2 tbsp of nut butter for some added fat and protein.
  3. Variations: This recipe can easily be changed to accommodate different flavors. Swap the strawberries for cherries or blackberries, add a handful of spinach for an extra nutrient boost- whatever you like!

Recipe FAQs

What type of Greek yogurt works best?

Plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt works best. It provides no added sugar and allows the smoothie to be easily customized with different flavors! I use whole milk yogurt to give it extra creaminess, but lower fat options would also work well.

How can I make this smoothie dairy free?

Swap the Greek yogurt with a thick plant-based yogurt (like coconut) and use a non-dairy milk.

Can I make this smoothie ahead of time?

I always find that smoothies are best enjoyed immediately. However, they can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 day in an airtight container. Shake well or re-blend before enjoying.
