WELCOME
Hi, I’m Rachael
I’m a married mom of two living in the foothills of the Tennessee mountains. My best friend and husband of eight years, Andrew and myself have spent the past few years planting our roots and pursuing simple living, beginning with purchasing some land and starting to build our handcrafted log home. It has been an adventure to say the least!
It is still a work in progress, and we still often find ourselves in the midst of a million DIY projects that I love to share here! Along with our two daughters, we also share our home with our 85 lb golden boy, Hank, who is as much love as he is fur.
A FEW FUN FACTS ABOUT ME…
I was born and raised in East Tennessee, and I feel blessed that we have been able to plant our roots here. My husband was born and raised in Northern Michigan. We visit often, and I consider his hometown as my second home, one that I love.
I love to garden. It is truly a passion of mine! I even own a small business as a budding (pun intended) flower farm. It brings me so much joy starting plants from seed and watching the garden burst to life every year.
My love of gardening has spilled over into the kitchen, and I am learning more and more about food preservation! I enjoy cooking simple meals focused around home grown and real ingredients.
My goal for simple living has been something I have always valued and craved, and as I’ve gotten older and started a family of my own, I have found my own ways to keep life simple, while still finding meaning. It seems the more I simplify, the more that joy and beauty abounds.
If you are someone who also finds yourself pursuing a slower, more intentional way of living, I’d love for you to stick around with me on this journey! I hope you find yourself learning new things and feeling inspired along the way.
