A Sweet & Simple Recipe.

I have been making homemade whipped cream for ages (it’s really nothing to be intimidated by!) but have never thought to make it using honey. This honey whipped cream uses the same staple ingredients to create something extra special and delicious.

I personally love the flavor that honey adds to this recipe. It is so so good atop homemade lattes, pancakes… pretty much anything your heart desires 🙂

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • SOFT AND PILLOWY: Whip it for just a couple minutes to get the ideal texture-whipped cream that is light, pillowy, and soft.
  • QUICK & EASY: Homemade whipped cream is one of my favorite things to make because it is so, so easy and only takes a few minutes of my time. Well worth the effort!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Heavy Cream: Use whatever brand you like, just make sure it’s nice and cold.
  • Honey: Used in place of the typical granulated or powdered sugar in whipped cream recipes, it is delicious and adds so much flavor!
  • Vanilla: Pure vanilla extract, please! I like to use my homemade vanilla for this recipe.
  • Salt: I personally love the flavor that salt brings to this recipe. You don’t need much, just a pinch to balance out the sweetness and add flavor.

Tips for Making Homemade Whipped Cream

  1. Keep it Cold: Make sure to grab the heavy cream straight from the fridge when beginning to prepare the whipped cream. You can also pop the mixing bowl in the fridge or freezer to chill for 10-15 minutes if you are feeling extra ambitious!
  2. Watch it Closely: It can be easy to accidentally overmix whipped cream. If the whipped cream is overmixed, it will look grainy and slightly curdled. If this happens, just add in another splash of heavy cream and gently fold it in until it smooths out.

Step by Step Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment or a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, combine the heavy cream, honey, vanilla, and salt.
  2. Begin beating all the ingredients together on medium high speed until medium peaks form, about 3 minutes.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Recipe FAQS

Can I use another kind of sweetener for homemade whipped cream?

Yes, absolutely! I use maple syrup in this homemade pumpkin spice latte. Granulated sugar also works well!

What are medium peaks?

I find medium peaks usually form after about 3 minutes of whipping the cream mixture together. When you lift the beaters or whisk out from the bowl, a small peak should form on them. It may droop down a little, but it shouldn’t lose its shape entirely.

Can I make homemade whipped cream ahead of time?

I recommend making it right before serving for the best texture. It will store in the fridge for up to 2 days, if needed. Just keep in mind it will lose some of it’s pillowy texture the longer it’s stored.
