Description
Make the perfect air fryer chicken breast in 20 minutes! Easy pantry staple seasonings combine to create a quick and delicious meal that is perfect for a quick dinner or to meal prep throughout the week.
Ingredients
Scale
1 lb chicken breasts
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp brown sugar
2-3 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Trim any fat off of the chicken, and then slice each breast in half lengthwise to make a thinner chicken breast. I like to then cut each breast in half again.
- Toss with Spices: Add the chicken to a mixing bowl. Add in the olive oil and spices, tossing well until thoroughly coated.
- Air Fry: Place the chicken in an even layer in the air fryer basket, being sure not to overlap (I always cook the chicken in batches if needed, rather than overlapping). Air fry the chicken at 400 degrees for 13 minutes, flipping them over halfway through cooking. The chicken is done when an instant read food thermometer inserted in the middle reads 165 degrees F.
- Enjoy! Pull the chicken out of the air fryer and place on a cutting board or plate to rest for a few minutes (if you can make it that long!) before eating.
Notes
- Cut the Chicken Thin: Thinner chicken not only cooks faster, but it gets deliciously tender with slightly crisped edges that is texture heaven. So, so good!
- Don’t Overcrowd: Leave space between chicken breasts so hot air can circulate. It also helps with get that crisp texture! Cook in batches if needed for the best results.
- Storage: Leftovers store well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
- Freezing Instructions: Cooked chicken breast will store well in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow to cool completely before storing.
