Description

Made with simple ingredients, this homemade pizza sauce is FAST, easy to make, and packed full of classic flavors that will have you questioning why in the world you ever bought pizza sauce from a store. It's THAT good.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 7 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. To a saucepan over medium-high heat, add all of the ingredients. Using a whisk, stir together well until combined.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, boiling for 1-2 minutes (stirring often so it doesn't burn!) before removing from the heat. Enjoy immediately or allow to cool before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Customize the Spice: If you like a little heat, you can always add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Sauce Texture: I often use an immersion blender to make the sauce a little smoother! I just add it directly into the saucepan and blend together for around 30 seconds before serving or storing.
  • Storage: Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freezing Instructions: Allow the sauce to cool completely, then store in an airtight, freezer-friendly container for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw at room temperature before reheating over the stove.
  • Prep Time: 3 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2 minutes
